Chicagoland Regional Hospitals and Institutions Committee |
The Hospitals and Institutions Committee has consolidated with the Public Relations Committee. The joint HIPR Committee meets monthly at the Chicago Service Office on the third Sunday of each month at 2 PM. The Chicago Service Office is located at Eisenhower Tower, Ste. 508A,1701 S First Ave, Maywood, Illinois 60153
HOW (Help Others Write) Program
This is an outreach effort where volunteers will write with inmates who are interested in getting recovery in our program. The HOW Subcommittee is currently forming in January 2012 and needs volunteers.

This committee brings meetings into places where regular NA meetings cannot
meet because of special circumstances or concerns of the institution.
In particular, the H&I committees of the areas of the Chicagoland Region,
and the Regional H&I committee bring meetings into Jails, Treatment
Centers,
Detox Facilities and In-patient Clinics.

Volunteers Are Needed!
If you would like to get involved, please click on this link to volunteer.
The regional H&I Subcommittee is asking all areas to fill out these forms for each facility where an H&I meeting takes place. Turn them in at the monthly subcommittee meeting.

You must be approved by the authorities to do
volunteer work in jails and prisons. To
be cleared, you need to have at least a year clean with no felony
convictions for at least three years. You cannot be on probation,
or have been institutionalized in the past two years. This is
checked with fingerprints eventually so be honest.
